Manchester City rescued an agonizing draw (3-3) on their visit to Everton, but the result does not change the panorama in the Premier League too much.

The team led by Pep Guardiola managed to avoid defeat in the last breath, although they continue to lose ground in the race for the title. Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal maintains the advantage and preserves its destiny.
The meeting had a changing development. City had taken the lead with a goal from Jérémy Doku, but Everton reacted strongly and turned the score around thanks to a double from Thierno Barry and a goal from Jake O’Brien.
When it seemed that the ‘toffees’ would keep the three points, Doku appeared again at minute 90+7 to seal the tie and avoid a fall that would have been even harder for the ‘cityzens’.
Now it’s up to Arsenal
With this result, Arsenal remains the leader with 76 points, while Manchester City reaches 71 points with a game in hand.
However, the room for maneuver is increasingly reduced for Pep Guardiola’s men, who no longer depend on themselves in the final stretch of the tournament. With three days remaining, any setback could be decisive in defining the championship.
In that context, City absolutely needs a failure from Arsenal to keep their aspirations alive. The London team has in its hands the possibility of ending a 22-year drought without winning the Premier League, whose last title was in the 2003/2004 season under the direction of Arsène Wenger.
Meanwhile, Manchester City clings to hope, even though it no longer controls its own destiny.
