A United Airways aircraft crashed into a light pole and a truck on the New Jersey Turnpike while landing at Newark Liberty International Airport Sunday afternoonthe authorities reported.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, United Airways Flight 169 landed on the runway at Newark Airport shortly before 2:00 on Sunday afternoon and, In the middle of landing, he crashed into a light pole on the toll road.

None of the 221 passengers or 10 crew members on the international flight were injured in the crash, the airline said.
