Iran raised its tone with Washington this Sunday by warning that any US military operation in the Strait of Hormuz will be interpreted as a direct violation of the current ceasefire.

The warning was issued by Ebrahim Azizi, chairman of the National Security Commission of the Iranian Parliament, after President Donald Trump announced a mission to escort vessels trapped in the strategic sea lane.

“Any US interference in the new maritime regime in the Strait of Hormuz will be considered a violation of the ceasefire”wrote Azizi on the social network X.

The legislator also rejected Trump’s statements about the alter of the area. “The Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf will not be governed by Trump’s delusional statements,” he said. before adding that no one will accept what he described as “conspiracy theories.”

Washington prepares a large naval operation

The Iranian reaction came after the announcement of the so-called “Project Freedom”, an operation ordered by Trump to facilitate the departure of ships held in the area due to the blockade imposed in the midst of the conflict.

According to the United States Central Command, The mission will mobilize more than 100 aircraft, destroyers, drones and some 15,000 military personnel.

Commander Brad Cooper defended the initiative by ensuring that its nature is strictly defensive. and that seeks to protect both regional security and the stability of global trade.

Trapped ships and diplomacy underway

Trump explained that several countries requested help to evacuate their ships, many of them unrelated to the conflict in the Middle East.

“I have instructed my representatives to inform you that “We will do everything possible to ensure that your ships and crews leave the strait safely.”said the president in Fact Social.

He added that Those nations have made it clear that their ships will not transit the area again until navigation is safe again.

The operation will begin this Monday, according to Trump, who assured that some crews are facing food shortages after weeks of blockade.

Tehran reviews US proposal

In parallel, Iran confirmed that it received, through Pakistan, Washington’s response to its fourteen-point proposal to end the war.

Iranian authorities indicated that they are evaluating the content before issuing an official position, while diplomatic contacts between both parties continue.
