During his successful career in the urban genre, Don Omar has been in charge of being one of the “toughest” in the tiraderas and, although many considered that his famous phrase: “Don’t look at my galaxy“; it was another of his prayers dedicated to his lyrical enemies; the truth is that the “King” was simply making it clear that he was one step ahead of the rest, including his closest artists, with no reason to seek a dispute.
Don had several exchanges of verses and even complete songs with Héctor El Father and, at the time of releasing his album “iDon” in 2009, he was coming from a “reconciliation” with Daddy Yankee and, although some believed that this phrase was useful for the “Substantial Boss” to resume the fight at that time, Don Omar explained the reason for those five forceful words that he expresses in his song “Diva Virtual”.
In an interview shared this Tuesday by the reggaeton artist on his Instagram platform, he explained, 17 years later, that he simply tried to leave a message to all the underground who saw him as a “crazy” when he showed them part of the musical project that catapulted him as one of the most creative voices of the genre.
“That was a rebellious phrase because I started bringing colleagues to listen to the album and everyone looked at me like I was going crazy“Don highlighted, because at that time reggaeton was well established, which had stopped being underground, but maintained its terrifying nature.
However, the experienced artist knew that this innovation would be a success: “I I thought maybe I was too far ahead. I wanted to do something different, I didn’t want to have to act forced by the law of gravity of the urban genre and I stuck to it.”
“iDon” was an album that featured music fused between reggaeton, electronics, urban pop and industrial sounds; a clear example of this being precisely the song “Virtual Diva“, an electronic song that has made the entire planet dance and where he launches the forceful phrase: “Some light years before all of you, I will always live there. “Don’t look at my galaxy.”

All that energy can be enjoyed live again this year in South Miami (Florida), where Don will have eight performances with the Meet and Greet Tourstarting May 16 in Hialeah.
