“Apex” or “Dominant Predator”as it is titled in Spanish, is a survival thriller that lasts 90 minutes, with little preamble and, therefore, generates a quick attraction with those who delve into the stories that are full of sudden situations and a lot of suspense.
The protagonist and Oscar winner Charlize Theronplays Sasha, a professional climber who will seek to get away from her grief on a mountain in Australia. What she doesn’t expect is that it is a place full of bad fame and where the deranged Ben (Taron Egerton) wants to make her his new prey. Can “Apex” establish itself as one of the best movies of the year?
Although this film already took the first step, which was to position itself among the most viewed, now the mission will be to remain for as long as possible to be considered in the future as one of the best of the year on the streaming platform. Something that did not happen with the aforementioned “Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man“, which after the first three days reduced its average number of daily views noticeably.
Hunch Tomatoes stated that the critics so far are 66% of the people who consider it a good film, this being a discreet number, compared to the position in which it is located worldwide after its release.
