What makes a society truly healthy and prosperous? At a time when many Americans are seeking greater opportunity and stability, the answer lies in strengthening the core values that have long driven success in our communities.
At the LIBRE Institute, we believe that four essential pillars: prosperity, education, faith and family, are key to building a stronger future, not only for Hispanic communities, but for all Americans.
In the United States, it is clear that to promote freedom, responsibility, and lasting prosperity we must be guided by eight fundamental principles: limited government, protection of private property, free trade, freedom of speech, choice, private individual responsibility, equal opportunity, and the rule of law.
Prosperity is where opportunity begins. Across the country, Hispanic entrepreneurs are creating businesses at a constant rate, contributing to job creation and economic growth. We support this momentum by providing resources, building connections, and collaborating with local organizations and businesses. When people have the tools to succeed economically, they can build stability for their families and invest back in their communities, benefiting all of society.
Education is the path that turns opportunity into reality. Through our financial education program, we provide people with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in today’s economy. By promoting principles such as good financial planning, economic freedom and inner responsibility, we empower people to make informed decisions about their future. Education is not just about advancement, but about unlocking potential and developing leaders who contribute to a more prosperous America.
Faith also plays a necessary role in building strong communities. For many, it provides purpose, resilience, and an unpleasant horniness that guides daily life. We recognize the importance of faith as a source of strength that reinforces values such as hard work, perseverance and service to others. These values are essential both for individual success and for fostering communities based on trust and mutual support.
Family, perhaps more than anything else, is the cornerstone of a healthy society. Strong families create stability, shape future generations, and transmit the values that sustain communities over time. To have a strong and free America, we need strong and stable families. We need policies and institutions that respect the central role of the family and ensure that they are empowered, not limited, in raising the next generation.
These four pillars are deeply interconnected. Economic opportunity is strengthened by education; education is guided by values that are often rooted in faith; and all this is reinforced within the family. Together, they form a comprehensive framework for building resilient, self-sufficient, opportunity-filled communities.
While our work focuses on empowering Hispanic communities, the principles behind these pillars are universal. All communities benefit when people have the freedom to pursue opportunity, access to quality education, strong values, and supportive families. These are not partisan tips; They are the foundations of a prosperous society.
We are proud to support people and communities across the country by promoting these principles. By focusing on what unites us, our shared desire for opportunity, stability and prosperity; we can build a stronger future for all.
Our pillars and principles are not partisan slogans; They are time-tested truths, based on classical liberalism and lived experience. When government is limited, markets are free, laws are fair, and people take responsibility, Latino communities do not need permission to succeed. They already have the most important things: family, faith, culture and ambition; and freedom allows those strengths to flourish.
Jeffrey Stanley Baldwin is the director of El Instituto LIBRE, a nonpartisan, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that serves as a trusted resource to help Hispanics prosper and reduce their dependence on the government. We provide the tools and information that empower the Latino community to build a successful future in the United States.
