British singer Ed Sheeran revealed that he is suffering from a painful health problem in the middle of his world tour ‘Loop Tour’. The pop star is preparing to begin the Latin American leg of her tour. However, through his social networks the musician shared with his followers that in recent weeks has suffered from shingles.
“I’ve had shingles for the last month, I wouldn’t recommend it, but I’m getting better now,” wrote the 35-year-old interpreter.
On April 28, 2026, Ed Sheeran surprised his followers by showing himself with a radical change of look. The musician shaved his characteristic red hair and shared a series of updates about his personal life, including his shingles condition.
According to Mayo Hospital, shingles is a viral infection that causes a painful rash on the skin. This infection is caused by the varicella zoster virus, the same virus that causes chickenpox. Once a person acquires this virus, it remains in the body for life and there is the possibility of it reactivating.
Although it is not a life-threatening disease, it can cause a lot of pain after the rash disappears.
Despite the concerns of his followers, Ed Sheeran clarified that his tour schedule continues without modifications, including his dates in Latin America.
“More dates in Latin America, I’m very excited about that. Mexico, Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Chile. The details are on my website, tickets and so on, but I’m very excited to come back and play for you there, they are some of my favorite countries and cities to perform in, it’s been too long,” said Ed Sheeran.
Regarding his change of look, Ed Sheeran assured that it represents the beginning of a new beginning.
“Yes, I shaved my hair. I wanted to do it to symbolize a new beginning. There are a lot of new beginnings in my life right now. I love it and I’m thinking about keeping it that way,” she wrote.
In mid-2022, Ed Sheeran’s wife underwent surgery to remove a cancerous tumor that was diagnosed during her pregnancy. Cherry Seaborn waited until after giving birth to have the surgery and on the “Mates Preserve Secrets and Ways” podcast he said that his wife is perfectly fine after the surgery.
