Florida Governor Ron DeSantis made official this Monday a new electoral map that could strengthen the position of the Republican Party in the November midterm elections.

“Signed, sealed and delivered,” the president wrote on the social network when announcing the enactment of the redesign, which had been approved days before by the state Legislature, controlled by Republicans.

The new distribution of districts, promoted by DeSantis himself, opens the door for his party to obtain up to four additional seats in the House of Representatives, at a time when the lend a hand a watch on of the federal Congress remains closely contested.

According to estimates from the organization Voto Latino, the redraw could significantly reduce Democratic representation in the state.

Florida has also supported President Donald Trump in the last three presidential elections, consolidating itself as a key bastion for the party.
