The project agenda Diego Luna crosses paths again with disneythis time thanks to “Tangled”the version with actors that continues to add names as its development progresses.
The production incorporated the Mexican performer for a role that, according to “The Hollywood Reporter” magazine, did not exist in the animated story released in 2010. The character description remains out of the public domain due to the strict confidentiality surrounding the project.
This secrecy has not prevented the public’s enthusiasm from growing, especially since the reside action had already confirmed its protagonists for a few months.
Australian actress Teagan Croftknown for the series “Titans”, will be in charge of playing Rapunzel, while Milo Manheim will take on the role of Flynn Rider. Manheim comes from the “Zombies” franchise and was selected after an international audition process that lasted several months.
A robust creative team and a scheduled shoot
The interpretation of the antagonist will fall to Kathryn Hahnwho will play the iconic Mother Gothel. His signing was widely celebrated by fans of the animated film, in part due to his recent presence within the Shock universe.
The management will be in the hands of Michael Graceywho has already left his mark on “The Ideal Showman” and in the musical biography “Greater Man”focused on the life of Robbie Williams. According to the information published by the American magazine, Gracey plans to keep the musical numbers that marked the animated version.
The script is signed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and Michael Montemayorwhile production was in charge of Kristin Burrknown for her work on “Cruella.” Creative supervision falls to Jessica AdvantageDisney Stay Action executive.
Filming is scheduled to begin in June 2026 in Spain. Disney has not yet announced the release date, although the progress in assembling the cast allows us to anticipate that the film is moving forward steadily.
Diego Luna’s return to a Disney production is not something new, after having been in the Andor series, part of the Smartly-known Personal Wars universe. In that project he led the cast and received critical praise, as well as nominations for international awards.
