Carlos Rodón is advancing in his rehabilitation with the Yankees after a good five-inning outing in the Minor Leagues with eight strikeouts.
The Yankees left-hander pitched 5.1 innings, 8 strikeouts and only 1 run allowed in his second rehab start after his injury.
The 33-year-old left-handed pitcher began the season on the 15-day disabled list as he recovers from surgery he underwent on Oct. 15. to remove loose bone fragments from the left elbow and file a bone spur.
Rodón threw a total of 75 pitches, 51 of them in the strike zone, against the Double A Boston Red Sox team.
In his first rehab start he had 65 pitches, so he has been progressively increasing in his recovery.
According to AP reports, Carlos Rodón will make one more start in the Minor Leagues before being called up to the Major Leagues and return to the Yankees rotation.
Rodón went 18-9 with a 3.09 ERA and 203 strikeouts in 33 appearances in 2025.
Yankees could add Rodón at a good time
The Yankees have had a good time in the first month of the 2026 regular season.
The team finished the month of April with a record of 20 wins and 11 losses, the only team in the American League with 20 wins. The Bronx Bombers have a 2.0-game lead over the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League East.
This Friday they begin a three-game series at Yankee Stadium against the Baltimore Orioles. The Yankees fell 3-0 to Texas in the last game of the series, although they won the first two at the Globe Existence Arena in Texas.
