In celebration of International Jazz Day and Jazz Appreciation Month, The Bronx Song Corridor (438 East 163rd Avenue, Bronx) will present “Nuevas Voices: Rising Voices in Latin Jazz” this Thursday, April 30 at 7:00 pm. The concert will bring together the Argentine guitarist Carlos Paván (photo) and the experimental duo Chuño in an evening that fuses Latin American musical traditions with contemporary jazz. Paván incorporates classical influences and jazz elements in his compositions, while Chuño explores traditional Argentine sounds from an experimental perspective. The Havana Film Competition New York starts
This week, New York will once again become a meeting point for Latin American cinema with the arrival of the Havana Film Competition New York (HFFNY), which will celebrate its 26th edition from May 1 to 7. The Margaret Mead Film Competition at the AMNH
The renowned Margaret Mead Film Competition returns to the American Museum of Natural History in New York (AMNH) from May 1 to 3, with a program dedicated to the best international documentary cinema.
