This Tuesday, the White House released an image generated with man-made intelligence to ridicule Democratic leaders Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer with Mexican stereotypes for Cinco de Mayo, which provoked an immediate response from Schumer, who published a montage in which President Donald Trump appears alongside the late Jeffrey Epstein.
The official publication showed a caricatured Jeffries and Schumer wearing funny hats, sitting in front of a border crossing between the United States and Mexico, surrounded by elements such as tortilla chips, salsa and a cactus, as well as a sign with the phrase “I love illegal immigrants.”
The message was accompanied by the phrase: “Happy Cinco de Mayo to all those who celebrate it.”
The publication was released on the occasion of the Cinco de Mayo, a date that in the United States is associated with the commemoration of Mexican-American culture and heritage. in memory of the Battle of Puebla of 1862.
Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace, a critic of President Trump for the war in Iran and the Jeffrey Epstein files, joined the White House mockery, saying that “Every day is Cinco de Mayo for Chuck Schumer and the Left. Illegals first, America last” in a tweet citing the publication.
Reply from the Senate
The reaction did not take long to arrive. Schumer responded in X with another cleverly altered image man made in which It included President Donald Trump alongside the late Jeffrey Epstein, both wearing similar hats.
“Happy Cinco de Mayo, White House!” wrote the senator in his publication.
The use of manipulated content with man-made intelligence to attack political adversaries is not new in the current administration. In recent months, the White House had already disseminated similar materials directed against Democratic figures.
Among them, a video in which Jeffries appeared dressed with a mustache and hat during an appearance, as well as another in which an AI-generated voice imitated Schumer with derogatory comments towards immigrants.
