After an institutional crisis that almost turned into a disaster, Tottenham had a dramatic turn in the lower part of the table after winning a major 2-1 victory against Aston Villa, leaving the dangerous positions and sinking its rival’s hopes of securing the Champions League early.

Under the direction of Roberto De Zerbithe Spurs exhibited an unrecognizable version, marked by suffocating pressure and a recovery of possession that was reminiscent of the Italian coach’s best period at Brighton, achieving his best performance of the season at the most critical moment.

West Ham’s defeat against Brentford last Saturday had left the door open for Tottenham to escape the abyss, and the team did not waste the opportunity. With an imperial Conor Gallagher in the midfield and Richarlison’s goal-scoring nose, the London team left the match practically on track in the first half.

Despite the two-goal advantage, Tottenham had to suffer in the final stretch when Emi Buendía reduced the deficit with a header in added time. However, the resurrection of the locals was not enough to prevent the three points from staying at home.

With this result, Tottenham is one point above West Ham with three games remaining, becoming the favorite forto avoid relegation if they manage to maintain this level in their next commitments, starting with Monday’s duel against Leeds United.

For its part, Unai Emery’s team is going through its most delicate moment of the campaign tYou have had three consecutive defeats in all competitions. Although they remain six points ahead of Bournemouth, the apathetic performance in London raises alarm bells ahead of the momentous second leg of the European semi-finals next Thursday.
