Authorities declared that the man who killed two women in separate attacks on Lengthy Island is an undocumented immigrant from El Salvador.

Identified as Rony Yahir Alvarenga Rivera, 22, allegedly fatally stabbed a 42-year-old co-worker while taking out the trash at a Wendy’s restaurant in Island Parkin Nassau County, early Saturday morning.

According to officials, the woman was taking out the trash when Rivera allegedly ambushed her.

Nassau County police said The Salvadoran allegedly murdered his second victim, a 32-year-old woman, on Mineola Avenue in Valley Streamhours later.

Rivera, who arrived in the country irregularly in 2016 at the age of 12, lived with his second victim, although police have not specified the exact nature of their relationship, Files 12 reported.

The two women suffered brutal stab wounds to the neck and torso.

Reports indicate that Rivera himself called the police and confessed to his crime.

“While we were at the scene, we received information that a person had been detained at 169 Atlantic Avenue in Lynbrook,” explained Detective Lieutenant George Darienzo.

“He asked to speak to the police and, when the officers arrived, he said he had killed someone that night,” he added.

Rivera was captured outside a 7-Eleven in Lynbrook. He faces numerous murder charges, but has pleaded not guilty.
