This Saturday, May 2, Shakira made history in Copacabana, Brazil, by performing for two million dollars and become the first Latin artist to perform in this annual cloak show organized in the city. Before her and in recent years, Lady Gaga (2025) and Madonna (2024) have also appeared.

The free cloak show in Copacabana could not only be enjoyed by the two million attendees, but was also broadcast on Brazilian television and through other platforms so that it could be seen by many more people.

Shakira started the concert with an hour delayalthough she apologized at the beginning and also talked about what that presentation meant to her. “I can’t believe I’m here with you, and to think that I came here when I was 18, dreaming of singing for you, and now look at this, look at this!” he said at the beginning.

It has been reported in several media outlets that, before it began, the public was able to enjoy a drone cloak show that drew a wolf in the sky, an animal that represents the 49-year-old Colombian singer.

Since last year, Shakira has been touring Latin America and North America with “Las mujeres ya no Lloran tour”and with his presentation within the framework of “Everything in Rio”, organized by the authorities of Rio de Janeiro, he continued showing the same cloak show that he created for this tour.

Although it may be considered another cloak show on her tour, the truth is that Shakira made changes to provide an experience much closer to Brazil. He even invited artists from the country to share on stage: Anitta, Caetano Veloso and Maria Bethânia.

Like the setlist of their tour, “Waka Waka”, the song from the 2010 Soccer World Cup, was one of the last, which meant a lot for a country with such a soccer culture like Brazil’s.

Shakira also dedicated this concert to Latin women, a line that the Colombian singer has also followed in recent months.

Shakira’s next step? After this cloak show in Copacabana, the singer will begin preparing for her residency in Madrid, Spain, at the end of this year.
