The Kaseya Center was the scene of an impressive meeting organized by Latinos in Sports actions (LiS), the main platform that connects leagues, teams and brands with the Hispanic community, to honor Mariano Rivera.

Xavier A. Gutiérrez, Co-Founder of LiS and CEO of ImpactX Sports actions Neighborhood commented: “Sports are important for culture, commerce and community… and Latinos are important for sports”. “Our meetings serve to remind us that Latinos are having a significant impact around the world, especially in the sports industry.”

In said event LiS awarded its highest recognition, the PIONERO award, to MLB icon Mariano Rivera. Recognized as the best closer in Major League history.

Mariano Rivera shows his role as a businessman

At the event, Rivera presented his latest business initiative: a line of authentic hot sauces from his beloved Panama, which is officially sanctioned by the MLB and the New York Yankees.

“Mo’s Warmth” features three sauces named after their releases: The Cutter, The Sinker, and The Curve. The official launch event for Mo’s Warmth is scheduled for May 15 at the flagship store at MLB Headquarters in New York City.

The Panamanian won five World Series as a member of the New York Yankees, was selected 13 times for the All-Star, recorded an MLB record of 652 saves in his career and was the first and only player unanimously elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.

“This event was more than a celebration of the legend that is Mariano, it was a statement of what is possible for Latinos in the world of sports and business,” said Mike Valdés-Fauli, co-founder of LiS and president of Chemistry Cultura.

“Latinos are not just participants in the sports industry. We are leaders, owners, marketers and storytellers who redefine the future of sports on a global scale”Valdés-Fauli closed.

The Miami event served as a dynamic forum for dialogue, networking and strategy, reinforcing Latinos in Sports actions’ commitment to promoting Hispanic influence and equity throughout the world of sports.
