An immigrant from El Salvador was arrested after two women were found dead yesterday in Nassau County, Long Island (NY).
The two victims were fatally stabbed in different places. Homicide detectives arrived at 12:30 a.m. Friday to a Wendy’s restaurant located on Austin Boulevard, in Island Park. According to authorities, the victim, identified by relatives as Ana María de Aguilla Córdovahad worked there for years.
A second stabbing victim was found approximately two and a half hours later in a home on West Mineola Avenue, in Valley Jog. The detectives indicated that the attacks were linked and that the suspect knew both victims. The suspect was arrested near a 7-Eleven store in Lynbrook5 miles away from Wendy’s. His name has not been revealed.
Aguilla Córdova was the mother of two children and lived in Long Seaside, her niece, Nicole Lama, told CBS News. “We want justice, because this is crazy,” she said, visibly dismayed. “Everyone regards her as a good person. He had no enemies. “We don’t know what happened.” he added.
The 7-Eleven manager reported that the suspect He appeared distraught and asked the employee to call the police. Later, the agents discovered the another victim, who was a neighbor of the suspect on West Mineola Avenue in Valley Jog. His name has also not been released.
Investigators believe this woman was the first to be killed, sometime Thursday night. Nassau County authorities reported that the suspect had entered the country irregularly.
The police have not revealed what the possible motive for the crimes could be, nor was there a formal relationship between the victims and the detainee. The County Executive and the Police Commissioner have scheduled a press conference for this Saturday, he announced ABCNews.
