José Ramos was arrested on suspicion of raping a 12-year-old girl in the victim’s apartment in the Bronx (NYC).
According to authorities, Ramos allegedly attacked the minor inside the home located near W. 174th St. and 1st viscount montgomery of alamein Ave., in the neighborhood Morris Heightsaround 10:30 pm on Sunday, April 26.
The 34-year-old man and his victim are not related, according to a police source. The girl’s father intervened in the aggression when arriving home; He grabbed Ramos and called 911, the source added.
It was not immediately clear how Ramos, who lived about four blocks away, ended up inside the victim’s apartment, he said. DailyNews.
The minor was taken to a health center in the area to be evaluated, police said. On Wednesday, authorities charged Ramos with charges of rape and endangering the welfare of a minor. All charges are mere accusations and those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
In a similar case, last week Ángel Farias, a 71-year-old man, was charged with sexual abuse and other crimes as a suspect of having inappropriately touched a girl in a department store in Queens (NYC).
The FBI is also looking for Édgar Lázaro Castillo, a volleyball coach in New York, as a suspect of having sexually exploited teenagers for a period that could exceed 15 years.
